A “Poe” Poem
(with humblest apologies to Edgar Allan)

Late one evening, hot and humid,
I could not sleep, and so I stayed up and read
Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen
A fascinating read, not as sullen
As the subject matter I thought it’d be
About the literary love affair twixt Poe and Franny.
An historical novel, a romantic story
‘Tho in parts, it could have been tawdry;
But it wasn’t. Shall I tell more?
Quote this reviewer: Read this tale, I do implore.
You’ll enjoy this good read forevermore.

Through the night with the a/c blaring
I read on and on, never caring
As the sun rose, hotly, blazing through my bedroom door
Little known facts kept appearing,
Even as my eyes were searing
From hours of reading page after page of this fascinating lore
On and on I kept reading until the book was finally done
And then I wrote my review for www.authorexposure.com.
Needless to say, I was impressed. Need I digress anymore?
Quote this reviewer: Read this tale, I do implore
You’ll enjoy this good read forevermore.
